We fix ALL hardware and software problems.

These are the issues we commonly see:

Boot up problems
Blue screen, Windows system file error, hangs on bootup, etc...

Virus infection

Fake antivirus pop-up windows make it impossible to get anything done. Home page of browser is redirected to random sites. Unable to install or run an anti-virus program.

Runs slowly
Excessive boot up time or slow operation in general.

Locks up
Cursor freezes or processes slow down to the point of the system being unusable.  Hard drive light will sometimes still show activity.

Won't power up

This speaks for itself-- no action when the power button is pressed.

Laptop-specific problems

Battery won't charge

Usually caused by a bad connection at the power jack.  See below.

Bad connection at DC/power jack
A power connection can be achieved only by holding the power cord at a certain angle where it plugs into the laptop.  Spare yourself the cost of a more expensive repair and bring it in before it gets worse! Every time a power jack with a bad connection is wiggled, a spark jumps from the leg of the jack to the motherboard, causing a small burn mark.  Over time, so much corrosion will build up on the jack & motherboard that a power connection is no longer be able to be achieved.  This is the condition in which we usually receive these.  Most of the time this ends up being a standard power jack repair, but sometimes the corrosion has done so much damage that the motherboard has developed a short.  Most of the time we can repair this problem, but sometimes the short causes damage to power circuitry which requires replacement of the motherboard.

No video on power up
Lights turn on, system sounds like it's booting up but video doesn't come up.

Broken LCD
We can replace any cracked or otherwise non-functional LCD panel.

Data on screen is very dim
Data can barely be seen on display (flashlight held at an angle will make data more visible). Boots up this way, happens intermittently, or happens after system is on for a while.

Intermittently powers off
Happens without warning, from a couple of minutes after powering up to a couple of hours.

Power Jack/DC Jack Repair

We always replace the power jack and add reinforcement instead of just repairing the bad connection on the existing jack.

With this repair we include preventive maintenance for overheating by cleaning the fan & vent and replacing the old CPU thermal compound with high-grade Arctic Silver.

We warranty our power jack repairs for a year.

Motherboard Repair & Replacement

We do component level repair on motherboards for laptops and desktops.

We have an extensive vendor list and can have a replacement for any non-repairable motherboard in 1 day if necessary.

Video Chip Rework

Mostly applicable to HP laptops powering up without video--excessive heat has caused solder joints on the video chip to degrade.  We repair the degraded solder joints and replace the manufacturer-installed thermal transfer pad with a copper shim for improved heat transfer.
